A warning about statins during pregnancy

While "Lowering CVD risk among young patients" (January 2010) appropriately stated that statins should be used very rarely in this population, it is important to mention that one must be extremely cautious prescribing any statin for a young woman during childbearing years. Statins are absolutely contraindicated during pregnancy.—Michele Dickson, FNP-BC, Portland (137-16)
