Program Description: From the October 2013 issue of The Clinical Advisor: Postmenopausal vulvovaginal atrophy: communication and care. Guidance for the primary-care clinician to identify and treat this chronic and highly prevalent condition.
Target Audience: This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of Primary Care Physicians, Pediatricians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and Dietitians.
Physician Credit: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship
of MER and HME. MER is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Activity Objectives: After completing the activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Describe the impact of vulvovaginal atrophy on sexual health and quality of life and relay
this information to postmenopausal patients.
- Diagnose vulvovaginal atrophy.
- Treat vulvovaginal atrophy in line with evidence-based guidelines.
- Counsel patients on the etiology of vulvovaginal atrophy and the efficacy and safety of available therapies.
AAPA Category I CME Credit
This program was planned in accordance with AAPA's CME Standards for Enduring Material Programs and for Commercial Support of Enduring Material Programs.
This program has been reviewed and is approved for a maximum of 0.50 hours of AAPA Category I CME credit by the Physician Assistant Review Panel. Approval is valid for one year from the issue date of September 2013. Participants may submit the self-assessment at any time during that period.

Method of Participation: There are no fees for participating in and receiving CME

participants must: 1) read the learning objectives and faculty disclosures, 2) study the educational activity, 3) complete the posttest and submit it online and 4) complete the evaluation form online.
A statement of credit will be issued only upon receipt of a completed activity evaluation form and a completed post-test with a score of 70% or better.
