Nasal foreign body removal is a breeze

I see many children in the emergency department with a foreign body lodged in one nare. Examining these patients can be difficult, and attempting to remove the object can cause trauma and bleeding. One quick and easy approach to consider is having the parent pinch the unaffected nare, place his or her mouth over the child's, and blow forcefully. The foreign object usually pops right out.
