Heart disease in women: Low rate out west

Death rates for diseases of the heart per 100,000 women, 2002. Diseases include acute rheumatic fever, chronic rheumatic heart disease, heart failure, hypertensive heart disease, coronary artery disease, and pulmonary heart disease. Death rates are higher for black women than their white counterparts (170 vs. 131 per 100,000).
