Researchers in Germany found that metacognitive intervention is effective in schizophrenia, specifically for patients with schizophrenia who make quick conclusions with their thoughts that in turn reinforce their delusions. They have created and implemented the use of a computer application to facilitate metacognitive intervention, which they believe is effective for patients with mental illness.
