Often, overweight and/or patients with diabetes inquire about how often they ought to exercise as part of their treatment regimen. A fun response to use for these patients is, “Try and participate in some type of exercise every day that ends in the letter Y.” Once the patient understands that all days of the week end in the letter Y and a daily exercise regimen is being encouraged, they usually leave the office with a smile.—Deana Goldin, DNP, ARNP, FNP-BC, Miami (214-4)
