A man who has been taking baclofen (Lioresal) 20 mg four times a day for spasticity from a spinal cord injury developed an ileus. He had to have a nasogastric tube inserted and is obviously NPO. Do you have any suggestions for administering the baclofen to prevent withdrawal?— Mary Ann Jacobs, RN, MSN, NP, St. Louis, Mo.
