A 3-week-old infant of Hispanic descent presents with a bluish-green lesion on his lower back and gluteal area. His parents indicate the discoloration was present at birth. The lesion is irregularly shaped with ill-defined borders and measures 5 cm in greatest diameter. No additional lesions are noted anywhere else on the baby’s body. The patient is otherwise healthy, and the lesion is not causing him pain or discomfort. His parents report that his 8-year-old brother had a similar lesion during infancy that disappeared several years ago.
