An otherwise healthy 25-year-old restaurant worker presented with complaints of extreme pruritus and burning on his hands for one month. Symptoms were accompanied by erythema and wheals over the distal forearms and the dorsal surfaces of his hands. Individual lesions resolved within twenty-four hours. The patient had used 1% triamcinolone cream with some relief but continued to develop new eruptions. He reported no history of eczema or asthma. At work, he did not wear gloves and washed his hands frequently with a liquid cleanser. He took no prescription or OTC medications. His eruption was notably worse after recent assignment to the kitchen.
