The patient was a 37-year-old woman with a 15-year history of multiple nodules on her right foot. The lesions first appeared when she was living in Mexico. She did not recall a specific inciting trauma. Her only complaints were minimal tenderness and occasional drainage. Aside from the slowly growing nodules, she was healthy and had suffered no weight loss, fevers, or chills. She had been previously treated in Mexico with courses of antibiotics, which intermittently helped but never completely resolved her condition.
