An extensive literature review revealed no significant clinically based evidence to support the use or nonuse of disposable lead wires in such patients. One article published was under the disclosure of support by the company that makes the disposable lead wires.
Hosptials contain many niduses of potential infections leading to nosocomial infections. The practice of general cleaning of all equipment used by patients and staff is paramount.
