The American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) is hosting the 2019 Annual Meeting for nurse practitioners and students from June 18 to June 23, 2019, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Attendees will have access to more than 400 sessions and workshops hosted by leading NPs and other clinicians on topics such as telehealth in primary care, gendered approaches in healthcare, and addressing the opioid crisis in clinical practice. Members can earn 38 contact hours of continuing education credit and attend discussion sessions on current national, state, and local legislative and practice issues that affect NPs.

AANP 2019 will host 2 keynote speakers, Elizabeth Smart and Margaret A Fitzgerald, DNP, FNP-BC, NP-C, FAANP, CSP, FAAN, DCC, FNAP. In line with the meeting’s theme of Keeping Health Care on Track, Ms Smart will deliver the opening keynote address titled, “Where There’s Hope: Healing, Moving Forward, and Never Giving Up,” on Wednesday, June 19, from 2 to 4pm. Dr Fitzgerald will speak at the closing reception on Saturday, June 22, from 3:45 to 4:45 PM, where she will be highlighting ways in which NPs can find their voice in an ever-changing healthcare industry.

Members will have plenty of opportunities to network with providers from across the country throughout the meeting, including a welcome reception at the Indianapolis Zoo on Tuesday, June 18, from 6 to 8 PM. Additional activities hosted by AANP include bike tours of Indianapolis, an Indianapolis Speedway tour, and a wine and jazz tour.
