The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) is hosting the 2019 annual meeting for more than 7000 physician assistants and students from May 18 to May 22, 2019, at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado.
Attendees to the meeting will be able to take advantage of sessions on topics such as obesity and geriatrics in primary care, and participate in meetings for the house of delegates, student academy board, and the assembly of representatives. Poster sessions will showcase outcomes of relevant research. The conference will offer 275 hours of continuing medical education in both medical and surgical specialties.

Key physician assistant leaders will present on topics including the PA role in addiction medicine and how to utilize a patient tracking system for incidents of mass casualty.
The 2019 keynote speaker is artist and patient advocate Allison Massari. An inspirational storyteller, Ms Massari is a leading healthcare educator who provides audiences with tools to foster resilience in the face of challenge. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Ms Massari at the opening reception on Saturday, May 18, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
On Sunday, May 19, from 4 to 5 PM, representatives from WPP — a world-renowned research, branding, and communications company — will share an interim report of the Title Change Investigation, which is being conducted to guide and inform the best marketing strategy and title for the PA profession. Speakers will include Rich Durante, David Hirschler, Pandora Lycouri, and Jasmine Tanasy.
The meeting isn’t without social activities; a blood drive, a 5K Fun Run, and morning exercise classes are also scheduled. A mindfulness lounge will be available from Saturday, May 18, to Monday, May 20.
