Many years ago, I went to the delivery room with my wife for our first child’s birth. As he emerged into this world, the doctor said to quickly get down with him. My son had his cord around his neck and was blue.
I took him in my arms and quickly removed the cord. He was still not breathing, so I gave him a breath, and he gave me a cry in return. It is a proud moment when a provider saves a life by the breath of life, but it is your proudest when it is your son.
