Traveling always inspires me – even when it’s for business.
I spent the past weekend in Phoenix at the 25th annual AANP conference. While trying not to melt in the desert heat, I spent most of my time rounding up authors for future feature articles. I even logged a few hours manning the Clinical Advisor booth in the exhibit hall. Thank you to all the readers who stopped by to fill out a survey and tell me how much they love our gory dermatology photos.
While I was in Phoenix, Michael Zychowicz, who is on our editorial board, introduced me to Maria Kidner, FNP-C, of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Maria was in town to talk about her experiences setting up nursing education and mass casualty training programs in the South American country of Guyana. Over dinner, she also shared some pretty entertaining stories about life in a rural ER. Luckily, she saved the “arm stuck in a combine” stories until after the plates had been cleared.
