Aterica announced the launch of the Veta Smart Case & App, a new anaphylaxis and food allergy support system for patients and their families intended for use with epinephrine auto-injectors.
The Smart Case includes electronics and sensors to monitor the proximity, temperature, presence and removal, and expiration of auto-injectors. The Smart Case connects via Bluetooth technology to the Veta App to access real-time status and alerts with the user’s network. The App is compatible with iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Android mobile devices.
Other support features include removal and separation alerts to notify when the auto-injector has been removed from the case or left behind, a FindMe locator for misplaced auto-injectors, a temperature monitor, an expiry notice to warn about approaching expiry dates, and support circles where users and families can stay connected.
The Veta Smart Case can be used with EpiPen, EpiPen Jr, and Mylan’s authorized generic versions of EpiPen auto-injectors. The Case is available as a 1- or 2-pack for purchase online and in select CVS pharmacies.
