Urinary tract infection is treatable with antibiotics. Phimosis cannot be diagnosed in a child because the foreskin may not be retractable until as late as adolescence. Most American urologists do not value the foreskin, partly because they may not have one and/or they do not know its important functions that contribute to sexual pleasure. Find a foreskin-friendly urologist before agreeing to a child’s circumcision. — RONALD GOLDMAN, PhD, Boston, Mass. (204-1)
