Image of the Week: Seizures and Spontaneous Laughter in a Child

A 4-year-old girl is referred to a pediatric neurologist for evaluation of new-onset generalized tonic-clonic seizures. Her father mentions that she has also had sudden episodes of spontaneous, unexplained, loud laughter for the past year; these episodes now occur almost daily. Neurologic examination is unremarkable.
