This patient has porcelain gallbladder, a rare manifestation of chronic cholecystitis characterized by calcification of the gallbladder wall. Porcelain gallbladder is a risk factor for developing gallbladder cancer. Some patients may undergo prophylactic cholecystectomy, even if they are asymptomatic.
